Record sales at fitted furniture supplier

One of the UK's largest suppliers of fitted kitchen, bedroom and bathroom furniture has pushed turnover up close to the £200m mark while profits also rose.
Symphony supplies its products to private property developers, social housing providers, hoteliers and retailers, a mix which it believes to be unique.
In accounts for the year to 31 December 2016, turnover increased by 9 per cent to £199m as the business benefited from growth in the private development market.
Pre-tax profit grew from £12.1m to £14.4m while operating profit increased by 50 per cent to £18.8m.
The Barnsley-headquartered company, which has more than 750,000 sq ft of manufacturing and warehousing capacity, is chaired by founder Douglas Gregory and run by managing director Martyn Davis.
